SERVICE CAMPAIGN 936, CYLINDER HEAD COVER OIL LEAK REPAIR

Description: This bulletin outlines the following service procedures.
-Replace the LH (front) cylinder head cover gasket.
-Inspect the alternator for signs of oil contamination.
-Replace the alternator if any oil contamination is found.

An oil contaminated alternator may result in low or no alternator output,
which may cause charging system warning light illumination, no crank, no
start, or a loss of power. If the vehicle continues to be driven with the
charging system warning light illuminated, the engine may stop running.

Service Campaign TX8 SRS B1620 DIAGNOSTIC LOGIC UPDATE

Description: The SRS airbag warning light on the instrument panel
illuminates for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition is turned ON, and
then turns OFF. During this time, the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) conducts
self-diagnosis. On certain vehicles, if the ACU senses sufficient vibration
during the diagnostic period (from a vehicle door being slammed, for
example), the SRSCM may erroneously detect a fault and illuminate the airbag
warning light accompanied by DTC B1620 (internal fault).

Recall Campaign 131: 2009-2011 Accent Stop Lamp Switch

Hyundai has recently announced, but not yet launched, a safety recall in the
United States to replace the stop lamp switch in certain 2009 – 2011 model
year Accent vehicles produced beginning on March 1, 2009 through February
11, 2011. This recall has been posted to the NHTSA website, and you may
receive phone calls from customers with questions regarding this matter.

The stop lamp switch on vehicles in the subject recall population may
experience intermittent switch point contact when the brake pedal is
depressed. This condition could potentially result in:
-An inability to remove the vehicle’s shifter from the Park position while
the vehicle is stationary
-Illumination of the “ESC” (Electronic Stability Control) indicator lamp in
the instrument cluster
-Limited ability to cancel the cruise control feature (if equipped) using
the brake pedal
-Intermittent operation of the stop lamps

Hyundai Motor America will notify all owners of the vehicles described above
to return their vehicles to their Hyundai dealers for repair. Customer
Notification letters of the campaign are scheduled to be mailed in November,
2015.

We are currently making preparations to implement the Safety Recall remedy.
A Technical Service Bulletin will be provided when the remedy is available.
In the interim, please connect the GDS to the vehicle to receive the latest
diagnostic and repair information.
